Bangkok’s Pink Line monorail is expanding with a new extension to Muang Thong Thani, officially opening on May 20, 2025 — earlier than expected. To celebrate, passengers can enjoy free rides on the new section from 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM daily, now through June 16, 2025.

About the Pink Line Extension
This extension adds two new stations:
Muang Thong Thani Station (MT01) – Provides easy access to Sukhothai Thammathirat Open University, Wat Phasook Maneejak School, and the well-known IMPACT exhibition and convention center.
Muang Thong Thani Lake Station (MT02) – Connects directly to Somdet Phra Srinagarindra Park and offers another entrance to the IMPACT complex.
A newly built skywalk links the station directly to IMPACT Challenger Hall, making it much easier for event attendees to reach the venue.
Fare Information
Starting June 17, 2025, normal fares will apply. Prices will range from 15 to 45 baht for travel across the Pink Line, including this new section.

Safety and Operations
After a successful test run and thorough inspections, both the Mass Rapid Transit Authority of Thailand (MRTA) and Northern Bangkok Monorail Company (NBM) confirmed that the extension is safe and ready to operate. Final construction touches are still being completed, but they do not affect passenger use.
Why It Matters
The new extension is expected to serve 13,000 to 14,000 passengers each day, especially benefiting visitors to the IMPACT complex and people living in the surrounding area. It's a convenient new way to travel for both locals and tourists.
