🏢 Condo Neighbors: 5 Types You’ll Meet in Every Building

If you’ve ever rented a condo in Bangkok, you already know: you’re not just renting a room, you’re also inheriting neighbors. And let’s be real — some of them are unforgettable.

Whether you’re in a high-rise in Huai Khwang or a low-rise near BTS On Nut, there are always a few familiar faces that make condo life a little more… interesting.

Here are the 5 classic types of condo neighbors you’ll probably bump into (or hear through the walls 😅):

1. 🧘‍♀️ The Super Quiet One

They’ve lived there for three years, but no one’s seen them. You might hear their front door open once a week. No music, no noise, not even a "sawasdee ka/khrab". You're not sure if they’re shy, a ninja, or just permanently working from home. Still — they’re the dream neighbor. Zero drama. Zero disturbance. Zero evidence of life.

2. 🎶 The DJ (Without a Schedule)

You’ll know when they’re home because your wall will start vibrating. EDM at 3 p.m.? Lo-fi beats at 2 a.m.? Romantic ballads on Monday morning? Anything’s possible. At first, it’s annoying. Then, oddly comforting. Eventually, it’s your weekend playlist. Just pray they don’t discover karaoke mode.

3. 🐶 The Pet Lover

You’ve never seen them without a tiny dog in their arms or a cat watching from the balcony. If your condo is pet-friendly, this neighbor is living their best life — and so are their pets. You’ll hear squeaky toys in the hallway, spot poop bags in their tote, and maybe even get to pet a chihuahua in the elevator. Win-win.

4. 📦 The Online Shop Addict

The building staff knows them by name — and by parcel count. They get deliveries daily. Lazada, Shopee, TikTok Shop, GrabMart, you name it.They’ve turned the lobby into a mini post office, and you’ve probably mistaken their package for yours at least once.

5. 🧑‍🏫 The “Building Manager”

They don’t work for the building — but they might as well. They know every security guard by name, visit the juristic office more than the staff, and can tell you the condo rules better than the actual rulebook. If the elevator makes a strange noise or someone parks slightly wrong, they’re the first to report it (nicely... or not).

Annoying? Sometimes. But when the air con leaks or the gate won’t open — they’re already on it. Hero or hall monitor? You decide.

Are you one of these neighbors? 😅

Or maybe you’ve had a roommate who was all 5 in one?
